What We Do

The GOJUST Programme aims to improve access to justice for all Filipinos in order to contribute to inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development.

We work closely with local communities as well as with the Philippine Supreme Court, the Department of Justice, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government - to improve access to justice for all.

We aim to achieve this by working on four interconnected areas, which you can learn about below.

Justice Sector Coordination

Coordination helps to improve efficiency in the administration of justice, addresses and resolves problems arising in the justice system and ensures that all agencies and institutions working in the administration of justice are working effectively together towards a common goal of delivering swift and fair justice.

The GOJUST Programme aims to enhance Justice sector coordination mechanisms in the Philippines.

Strengthening Institutional Efficiency and Effectiveness in the Delivery of Justice Services

Many Filipinos have taken it as a fact of life that justice moves slowly in the country. An overburdened judicial system facing both capacity and logistical issues are likely reasons for the delay. Since 2010, over one million cases go through our first and second-level courts annually. GOJUST supports strengthening institutional efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of justice services.

Increasing Access to the Justice System for Vulnerable Groups

Access to justice for all Filipinos is critical to ensure that even those who are remote, vulnerable and excluded, can still access justice services.  We must not leave anyone behind.

GOJUST works to increase access to justice for vulnerable groups including women, LGBTI, persons with disabilities, indigenous peoples, and other excluded groups.

Justice Policy and Practice is Informed by Evidence

GOJUST leverages data, research, and evidence to inform policy decisions that can help unlock the transformative power of innovation and facilitate strategies to build a more accessible and inclusive justice system.
