CIDMS is the case management information system of the Philippine National Police specifically designed for investigators in managing case files and folders. Jointly developed by the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and Information Technology Management Service (ITMS) as a LAN stand-alone application that runs on a desktop computer, a pilot run was conducted in Metro Manila in 2012. Based on feedback from the pilot run, it has been further enhanced by the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM) and ITMS as a web-based version in 2016 for use in all precincts throughout the country.
GOJUST supports the rollout of training of investigators, crimes registrars, and other officers to enable the entire PNP organization to have a consistent and systematic recording of cases, provide easy access to case folders and easy retrieval of case information, allow for cross-referencing to aid in solving cases, and do away with storage of voluminous case files. This will facilitate efficiency savings through more informed resource distribution and improved information sharing with other agencies in the criminal justice chain.
Training for key PNP personnel has already been conducted in Regions 3 and 4A, La Union, Cebu and Bohol. Support for training in key cities and provinces nationwide will further be provided by the GOJUST Programme in the following months.
